Aviramp named in Sunday Times Top 100 for growth

Global aviation manufacturer Aviramp has been named in The Sunday Times 100 – the prestigious annual ranking of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies.

The listing comes after the company – the global leader in the manufacture of step-free aircraft boarding ramps – enjoyed a record-breaking year in 2024.

Chief executive and founder Graham Corfield said being included in the Sunday Times’ list was the ‘icing on the cake’ after a spectacular period of success for the Telford-based company.

“This is an amazing achievement for a fabulous team here at Aviramp,” Graham said.

“Our growth over the past three years has been nothing short of remarkable, particularly when you consider how the pandemic effectively shut down aviation for so long.

“We took that time to invest in research and development, bringing new solar-powered ramps to market which have proved to be hugely successful. We now have some 850 ramps in use at airports around the world, with new orders coming in all the time.

“And this year looks as if it will be even better than 2024. Our order book is extremely healthy, and we have new products to launch which are already starting to raise a tremendous amount of interest in the industry.

“Our success is all down to the fantastic team we have and their unwavering commitment to making Aviramp the best in the world at what it does. I cannot praise them enough.”

The Sunday Times 100 ranks Aviramp at 68 in the 2025 list and says it has enjoyed annual sales growth of 75.97 per cent over the past three years, with latest sales of £10.2 million.

To make the list, companies needed to be independent, privately-owned and UK headquartered and have sales that exceed £5 million in their latest year of trading, but not £250 million.

The listing comes on the back of a period of outstanding success for Aviramp, which already holds the Queen’s Award for International Trade.

Earlier this summer it was named in The Manufacturer Top 100 list of the country’s most dynamic and innovative manufacturing leaders and also won international praise after one of its ramps was used by US veterans returning to northern France for commemorations to mark the 81st anniversary of D-Day.

The company – which also won two awards at this month’s Shropshire Business Awards – has donated the ramp to Deauville airport in Normandy for use with future commemorations.

Aviramp’s boarding ramps and bridges are used when an aircraft is parked on a remote stand and offer a safe, dignified alternative to stairs and separate ambulifts for wheelchair users and those passengers with reduced mobility.

The Sunday Times 100 list takes on the baton from The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 series, which celebrated the country’s leading entrepreneurs for 24 years.
