Leading aviation manufacturer Aviramp has started the year in style – with a series of deals for its pioneering step-free boarding ramps.
The Telford-based company, which enjoyed its most profitable year in 2024, is on track for further success after clinching more than £1.5 million of deals in recent weeks.
Chief executive and company founder Graham Corfield said the deals had been struck with operators in Australia, the Caribbean, south America and the UK.
“I am pleased to say that the success we enjoyed throughout 2024 is continuing into 2025, which looks set to be another record-breaking year with new Aviramps being ordered by airports and operators across the globe.
“I am particularly pleased to have secured an order for four of our Continental ramps and one International with AES for Punta Cana airport in the Dominican Republic.
“The Caribbean is a region which we think offers some really strong opportunities and where the Made in the UK stamp of quality still carries some real weight.”
Other orders included five Continental ramps for Bristol Airport, three for Broome Airport in Western Australia and one for Swissport Equador.
The orders come alongside Aviramp donating an International ramp to be used by returning US D-Day veterans flying into Deauville Airport in Normandy for the 81st commemorations of the allied landings later this year.
The company is partnering with Delta Air Lines, Michelin and Best Defense Foundation, a US charity that honours and celebrates veterans, to ensure that veterans can get on and off their chartered flight with comfort, safety and dignity.
It has also launched a recruitment drive for 30 new members of staff to help meet demand and boosted its supply chain since the start of the year to strengthen its market position.
Aviramp boarding ramps and bridges are used when an aircraft is parked on a remote stand and offer a safe, dignified alternative to stairs and separate ambulifts for wheelchair users and those passengers with reduced mobility.
The low-angled ramps are fitted with a unique non-slip surface to improve safety for all passengers and help improve turnaround times and efficiency for airlines, airports and ground handlers.
